Middy’s Sales Rep Of The Year 2019

Middy’s annual "Sales Representative of the Year Awards" were held on the 26th February, at the scenic Cumberland Lorne Resort.


Middy's sales representatives from across the nation came together to recognise and celebrate outstanding individual achievements and team success in 2019.

The evening officially commenced with a welcome address from National Sales Manager, Mark Carrington. Mark spoke about strong growth in the 2019/2020 financial year and how the Sales Team had expanded in the last 12 months. He also discussed at length Middy’s motto "Offering you more…" and how Middy’s is dedicated to helping industry contractors with value added business services.

Following this, Matt Ferguson from Middy’s Echuca was announced as the Runner-up and Ray Van Vuuren from TechEnergy (QLD), Jack King from TechEnergy (VIC) and Brendan Nolan from Middy’s North, East Region were announced as the Commendation recipients.

Next up was the eagerly anticipated announcement of the Sales Representative of the Year (SROTY) Award winner. Mark Carrington announced Ballarat Area and Northern Grampians Sales Representative, Jason Ryan, as the 2019 Sales Rep of the year. As Jason took to the stage and put on the famous Middy’s Pink Jacket, he was met with thunderous applause. In the days leading up to the event, there had been a lot of speculation as to who the potential winner would be, with Jason’s name consistently being mentioned.

Once official proceedings concluded, everyone was free to mingle and enjoy the rest of the night.

We caught up with Jason several weeks later to find out what he had been up to since receiving the 2019 SROTY Award.

Middy's: Now that you’ve had some time to reflect, can you tell us what winning the award means to you?
Jason: It actually means a lot to me. It acknowledges the effort that I have put in over the last 12 months and the effort of my fellow colleagues. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank them; Scott Testro and staff from Middy’s Ballarat West, Luke Ashby and staff from Middy’s Ballarat and Marc Collins and staff from Middy’s Stawell.

M: You obviously had a lot of success in 2019, but were there any challenges?
J: There are always challenges, but I’m fortunate to have had fantastic support from our customers, and from VIC regional sales manager Chris Bily and national sales manager Mark Carrington.

M: What were your key takeaways from the Awards night?
J: The night was a great opportunity for all Middy’s Sales Representatives to come together, socialise and share ideas in a relaxed and fun environment.
