Biochar Earth System Industrial Case Study
Biochar Control Panel Install
Earth Systems has been operating since 1993 and has completed over 500 major projects, both within Australia and overseas providing solutions for water management and treatment, ecology, energy efficiency, carbon accounting, community consultation and development.
One of the primary machines created by Earth Systems burns wood or biomass in a controlled process called Pyrolysis. This entails converting the materials into char, which allows the carbon to be captured. The char can then be put back into the ground as it retains more moisture and increases soil fertility. An added benefit of this process is the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by capturing the carbon. Earth Systems greatly value sustainability and take pride in providing environmentally friendly products to their customers.
The business required a control panel for a piece of machinery destined for a waste management facility in Sweden, so they reached out to electrician Michael O’Grady (South East Switchboards & Control) to provide a solution.
Michael engaged with Middy’s Industrial BD Dean Sullivan to help source and select the correct motor control and signaling devices to build this panel. Together and with assistance from the Middy’s Carrum Downs branch, they were able to meet the tight deadline over the Christmas period and provide the best solution.
The Control Panel:
Electrician Michael O’Grady liaised directly with Middy's Industrial BD Dean Sullivan to ensure all requirements were met and correct devices were utilised in the Biochar Control Panel build.
- Motor Control
- Signaling Devices
- NHP Switchgear
Dean at Middy’s helped me with selecting the correct product for the project, making sure all requirements were met. I used NHP switchgear and the client was happy to sign off on it. The ease of selection and supply of the product via Middy’s made this project run extremely well and on time and I have confidence to call on Middy’s Industrial for future projects. - Michael O’Grady: Electrical, South East Switchboards & Control
