A Romance Made At Middy's

Saturday 10th April saw two of Middy's valued employees get married at the scenic Splitters Creek Winery, just out of Albury, NSW.

Fulfilling her childhood dream of arriving at her wedding in a horse and cart, the gorgeous Steph, Branch Supervisor at Middy's Albury and her fiancée Dan, Inventory Officer at Middy's Wodonga tied the knot in what was truly a 'family' affair.

Steph and Dan met three years ago working at Middy's. Whilst they don't have large families of their own, they consider Middy's their family, hence invited sixteen of their nearest and dearest 'Middy's family', together with partners, to help them celebrate their special day. Even Chris Day, the VIC 4 Regional Sales Manager and his partner attended.

Dan started working at Middy's about six years ago with a nine month sojourn after two years when he left to see if 'the grass was greener'. He soon decided it wasn't and happily returned to Middy's where he was welcomed back with open arms as he had maintained relationships with many of the Middy's team whilst away. Steph has been part of the Middy's family for four years now, with no intention of going anywhere.

Both Dan and Steph thrive amongst the culture at Middy's. They love the family values Middy's instil and the fact that staff from all levels, including senior management, genuinely care for everyone that works at Middy's 'like one of their own'. They also both enjoy the incredible teamwork displayed at their home branches and comment how crucial it is to the branches' success. Steph feels super lucky to work with such a wonderful team of guys including Matthew, Mark and Dave at Middy's Albury. They even hang out after work together.

We wouldn't be who we are without Middy's. Such a great workplace that has given us the opportunity to grow and develop into who we are - Dan Hanley

Dan always knew he had the one in Steph. "She is a very special person and once you know, you know", he said. Whilst not nervous about popping the question, Dan was concerned about dropping the engagement ring in the water when he proposed to Steph on their Tasmanian holiday. Luckily he didn't and of course Steph said 'yes'. They returned to Tassie as a wedded couple for their honeymoon as well as spending some time on the Gold Coast. Dan says Steph is the vibrant, out-going talker in their relationship and he is the more reserved type. He says they balance each other out beautifully and his tip for a good marriage is to always 'listen'.

Outside of work Steph and Dan are huge Pokemon and Harry Potter fanatics. So much so, they recently got matching Pokemon/ Harry Potter inspired tattoos... now that's commitment. The couple also enjoy having dinner with friends and spending time with their families, especially their five year old nephew.

So what's next for our loved up couple? At 30 and 33 years of age, Steph and Dan look forward to buying a house of their own and would love to start a family.
