Coach Electrical Hits Sandown Raceway

Last Summer Middy’s customers had the chance to win the ultimate Middy’s racing experience at Sandown Raceway for the second round of the 2021 V8 series. One lucky winner would have their business logo feature on the Middy’s Mobil 1 Racing Car, driven by Bryce Fullwood in the main race. The winner would also enjoy a meet and greet with Bryce, an exclusive tour of Pit Lane and enjoy the luxury of corporate hospitality.

The 2nd prize winner would also win a Hot Lap for themselves and a mate and the 3rd prize included a Middy’s Racing merchandise package.

The promotion was powered by Ventair and the entry requirements were straightforward. Simply purchase a Ventair Skyfan DC for an entry into the draw or double your entry by purchasing the Wi-Fi app control for the Skyfan DC range.

As soon as the promotion landed, entries came in thick and fast with great feedback being shared across our national branch network from both customers and staff. Whether it was our diehard V8 fan customers keen to meet Bryce or customers just wanting their logo in the public eye, the excitement was palpable.

The prize draw took place in February and we were proud to announce Warren Michelic from Coach Electrical as our national prize winner. The long time Middy’s Gisborne customer was absolutely thrilled to have won. We caught up with Warren after the race day to chat about himself, his business and his experience at Sandown.

Middy’s: Congratulations once again Warren for taking out the major prize in the Middy’s and Ventair promotion. Before we get stuck in to race chat, can you tell us a bit about yourself and Coach Electrical?

Warren: Thanks to Middy’s and Ventair for the experience. My business Coach Electrical predominantly services customers in Gisborne, Woodend and Riddells Creek, all of which are around 50km or so north-west of Melbourne. I’m grateful to be able to work near where I live and there’s plenty of work to keep me busy. I have a third year apprentice working for me and I’ll reach out to a contractor who used to be an apprentice of mine to do some sub-contracting work if I need assistance.

M: The team at Middy’s Gisborne tell me you’re a regular at the branch and great to deal with. How do you get on with the team?

W: Phil and the team have looked after me for a very long time. I go in most days of the week and enjoy having a chat while picking up the product I need.

M: Tell us about your experience at Sandown. Did it meet or perhaps exceed your expectations?

W: I’m an avid racing fan and supporter of Holden so it was great to meet both Bryce and Chaz Mostert. I asked a few questions and they were happy to answer them all for me. It filled me with a lot of pride when I saw the Middy’s Mobil 1 Racing Car with Coach Electrical on the sideskirt. The race itself was great to watch and getting to go along with other Middy’s customers and staff was really enjoyable. I couldn’t have hoped for a better day.

M: You ended up getting a little more than you bargained for. Can you tell everyone what you were lucky enough to come away with?

W: Unfortunately for Bryce, there was a bit of a bingle he was involved in. Fortunately for me though, the sideskirt had to be replaced and Middy’s and WAU were happy to gift it to me. It’s hanging up in my shed and I’ll always remember the great time I had that day.

M:Thanks for your time Warren. All the best for you and Coach Electrical for the year.
