Bryce Fullwood Scores Maiden Podium

Bryce scores his first podium finish on Race 25 of the 2020 Supercars season...

Bryce Fullwood has scored his maiden Supercars podium finish, with third place in Race 25 at The Bend on Saturday. The rookie drove a superb race, one that will be reflected on for years to come.

After qualifying 13th, Bryce made it to the shootout and was 5th quickest. He didn’t have a set of greens to use, so his lap was impressive against 14 others with new tyres.

Bryce lit up the timing boards mid way through the main race as the fastest car on the track, and started making his way forward. With eight laps to go, the leading group were in his sights. With four to go, Bryce was in a six-way fight for the lead. All six were not giving an inch in a fantastic race, as Bryce moved into fourth with three to go, thanks to a move on Shane Van Gisbergen. Despite crossing the line in fourth, a 15 second penalty to McLaughlin promoted Bryce to the podium, an incredible achievement in his first season.

Didn’t expect to be taking home a trophy in my first year of Supercars, but I’ll take it! To be racing with these guys up the front, mixing it with them and passing them is pretty surreal. It’s just so awesome to get my first podium, so a big thank you to everyone who has helped me get here.

We had a fast car in qualifying but having to reuse tyres hurt us. I’m really happy with the progression of our team of late, everyone here and at home has been working incredibly hard and we are seeing gains which is awesome. We’ve come a long way with our race car." - Bryce Fullwood
