David & June's Story

David works at Middy’s, his wife June has metastatic breast cancer. June's story has recently appeared in 'The Beacon’ BCNA’s publication, where she speaks about her experiences trialling a new treatment, Trodelvy for triple negative breast cancer. BCNA played a key role in advocating for the addition of Trodelvy to the PBS to help alleviate the significant financial barrier to accessing this important treatment. Middy’s proudly supports BCNA and the efforts to treat and monitor breast cancer, improve quality of life and develop treatment outcomes and ultimately save more lives. Read June's story here...

How your donations help

This year alone, it’s predicted that 20,640 Australians will be diagnosed with breast cancer. BCNA works to ensure that every one of these people receives the very best care, treatment and support.

By supporting BCNA you are helping them make a difference for all Australians affected by breast cancer. Here's a snapshot of their recent work:
  • BCNA called for a plan to address pandemic-related breast screening service closures and their impact on early detection
  • They have successfully advocated for a wide range of breast cancer treatments to be added to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme to reduce their cost and increase access
  • They have highlighted the significant emotional impact of long delays in breast reconstruction surgery, occurring due to COVID-19 and the disruption of hospital services
In addition, BCNA has continued to develop and provide resources such as:
  • The new My Journey App and symptom tracker, allowing easy access to up to date and personalised information
  • Informative new webcasts and podcasts giving those in lockdown or in regional and remote communities greater access to information and support
Middy’s is proud supporter of Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA)

Middy's Pink Tradie Beanie/Cap for apprentices & account customers only.
