Middy’s x Schneider eWaste Drop Off Bin
ShareHow Middy's and Schneider Electric are doing their part to reduce eWaste.
Did you know Australians generate more than 140,000 tonnes of eWaste per year, with more than 70% of the toxic chemicals found in landfills coming from eWaste?
Middy’s is committed to creating a brighter future, so we are working with Schneider to change that with the Schneider eWaste Drop Off Bin, designed to promote sustainability and help electricians and contractors get rid of their waste the right way.
At the pilot launch of the eWaste Bin, the team at Middy’s Pakenham (led by Andrew Dyce, alongside Timothy Cornell and Ben Scanlon) cut the proverbial ribbon on the first eWaste Bin, alongside Schneider representatives David Cranks and Adam Barron.
What is the eWaste Drop Off Bin?
The eWaste Drop Off Bin serves as a collection point for end-of-life products, allowing for more responsible recycling, thus creating a more sustainable future. The bin can then be opened and collected by a nominated provider at an agreed-upon interval.

"We’re all about sustainability, and we believe the eWaste Bin serves as an easy way for contractors to get rid of the waste they have lying around their warehouses or offices." - Adam Barron and David Cranks, Schneider Electric

The eWaste Bin makes it so contractors can get rid of their old or unwanted products, with under 20 seconds of effort, and feel good knowing they are helping co-create a brighter future.
Following the Pakenham launch, our next eWaste Bin installation was at Middy’s Hindmarsh, SA. In attendance were Middy’s own Scott Quaini and Paul Glassenbury, next to Schneider’s representatives Andrew Bradley and Michelle Faulkner.
Middy’s is excited to be at the forefront of the sustainability revolution.
"Our main aim is to reduce (and hopefully eliminate) the waste that is currently being thrown into bins that could be recycled. We hope to play our part – as most items in the electrical industry can be recycled. We just need to provide our customers with the avenue to make it happen." - Scott Quaini, Middy's Regional Sales Manager
Let’s all work together to create a more sustainable future.
