Townsville Triple Header: Fullwood Delivers Grit and Gains for BJR
Bryce Fullwood wrapped up a productive weekend on the streets of Townsville with standout performances across Races 20,21 and 22 in the #14 Mr Umami Racing Camaro for Brad Jones Racing. The event highlighted Fullwood's qualifuing strength, pit stop precision, and composure under pressure, cementing his consistency and rising momentum in the 2025 Supercars Championship.

Race 20 - Saturday Surge to P5

Starting from 8th on the grid, Fullwood advanced into the second stanza of qualifying and made the most of a strategic late-race pit stop. With 14 laps to go, he was called in for four fresh tyres in a lightning-fast service by the BJR crew, allowing him to gain multiple positions. He delivered a sharp and focused drive to the finish, climbing to 5th place and earning a strong Top-5 result.

Race 21 - Tactical Tenacity in the Chaos

Sunday began with another strong qualifying run, with Bryce clocking the 5th fastest lap to enter the Top-10 Shootout. Running on used tyres to support race-day strategy, he secured 10th on the grid. Race 21 proved unpredictable, with multiple Safety Cars and a lock-up early in the race. Despite some disruption and mid-pack contact, Fullwood maintained focus and brought the Camaro home in 11th, salvaging solid points from a challenging contest.

Race 22 - From P16 to P9: Classic Comeback

In the final Townsville race, Fullwood was once again the fastest BJR qualifier, starting from 16th. Making full use of clean race strategy and efficient pit work, he charged forward seven positions to finish 9th. The result capped a weekend of strong progress and race-day recovery, reinforcing the team's ability to adapt and execute under pressure.

“We had good car speed over one lap and made it count when it mattered. The team nailed the stops and strategy - we kept our head in the game all weekend.” - Bryce Fullwood

Team Performance Overview

While Fullwood led the BJR charge, the wider team showed glimpses of pace and resilience throughout the Townsville weekend. Andre Heimgartner managed a Top-10 result in Race 21 after holding off challengers in a late-race duel, while other BJR entries showed strong qualifying speed but encountered traffic, race incidents and setup challenges that limited overall results. Despite the mixed outcomes, all four BJR Camaros demonstrated competitive speed across sessions, giving the team a valuable platform for refinement ahead of Round 8.

Eyes Ahead: Round 8 - Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440

Brad Jones Racing now shifts focus to Round 8 of the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship, the Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440, taking place 8-10 August at Queensland Raceway. With momentum building and recent race pace on display, the team is aiming to convert speed into points once again. Middy's proudly supporting Brad Jones Racing.
